The reception staff via telephone is extremely rude and disrespectful, a lady just shut off the phone while I was speaking with here very politely. 0 communication, 0 help, 0 try to make you stay nice, they don’t give a shit, they don’t answer to emails, they don’t send invoice, they don’t have flexible check out. Bad, very bad and never again. Plus, the hotel has no common area, water has no pressure, heat was extremely hot and couldn’t change it.

This place is a little strange to review. The room for 3 people was large, but very strange as far as design. Very large bathroom with mostly unused space...could use a towel rack. Kitchen had a post in the middle of it. Everything worked, but was a little old. The restaurant downstairs was nice. And it's right in town, close to a nice waterfall.

DO NOT STAY HERE!!! I have read countless reviews of people dealing with the same situation I’m in.. booked this hotel and never received the access code. I tried calling, texting, and emailing..no response. We were forced to spend another $200 to book another hotel. When the third party company we used contacted them to get an approval to refund us, the owner immediately responded and refused the refund. Now, I’m trying to contact them again by phone and no one can be reached. They clearly SCAM people this way repeatedly to make their money.

Stayed there from June 27th to 29th morning 2024.
Worst experience in our 2 ½ weeks in Iceland.
We found a used qtip on the floor, a fly between the mattress and the sheets.
A drawer was missing, no power outlet aside the bed, no kitchen even if it is supposed to be an "apartment".
No tv even if mentioned.
The hair dryer was fixed with some duct tape.
The curtains was damaged (like if a cat climb on it) and some were missing, too bad in June where there is absolutely no dark outside...

Service is... Well non existent, because it's all self check-in so you don't see anybody.
Cleaning service left their cleaning products in our room when we arrived. Looking at the room, they may be not started to clean it at all...

The place was disgusting. We found a USED q-tip on the floor, a dead fly on the mattress under the linen. The mattress was too old and dirty, the hair dryer was half broken and fixed with tape, and there was missing curtains on 2 of the 3 windows (1 curtain instead of 2 on each) which is really quite a big problem in June in Iceland when there is basically no night...
The cleaning crew also left their windows cleaning product in the room
One drawer was missing in one of the bedtable. Don't expect any bed lights or outlet near the bed either...

Also the information provided in the room are so outdated that it talked about a restaurant that doesn't exist anymore, same for the key or the wifi that is completely different now.

Never book this hotel!!!!!!The access code to our room was never send to my email. When I reach the hotel there’s no one to help. What you can do is keep trying to call the Phone placed at the front door. However, it was unreachable. Luckily after 4pm, one guy come, he help me call the manager, and get access code.

This was the lowest-rated, but fairly highly - priced, of all the places we stayed in Iceland, and given some of the poor reviews, we were doubtful about what to expect. However our apartment, looking out over the harbour, was huge. It was a family room with 3 beds (even though we’d only requested a twin) and had masses of space. The furnishings all seemed quite new (though rather 1970’s style) with lots of storage space. The kitchenette was also bigger than expected (and included a microwave plus tea/coffee which wasn’t mentioned) but the lighting needed improving. Nor were we expecting the apartment to be serviced daily with new towels, etc. The bathroom was disappointing - very spacious but with a tiny basin, no towel rail, and generally very utilitarian decor. The website mentions ‘soundproofing’ - well, it doesn’t work! Talking in adjacent apartments was very clear, and cooking/washing up clattering was dreadful. However by 10pm all was quiet and remained so until 7:30am. WiFi was great and there was the added bonus of having UK TV channels.|Access wasn’t an issue as other reviews suggest. We requested details via Booking.com a few days in advance and were told there’d be a free phone in the foyer to use to receive the door code. This worked perfectly. |The town store has good supplies, with quite a few UK brands, but if you need cheaper food, shop before arriving in Olafsvik. The town is a great location for touring the peninsula but there’s not much here, other than a couple of restaurants. There are some great hikes around the waterfall and surrounding hills.
