Our family (2 adults and 2 teens) had a very memorable family vacation around Iceland using Hey Iceland to do the 'leg work' for us by arranging our vehicle, accommodations, bus transfers, and a couple of activities along the route. We booked their "Around Iceland in 10 days | Winter (Self-drive tour)."

They were very professional and responsive both before we left, as well as along the way when we contacted them through the tour app. We booked our trip only about a week before we arrived, and it all went very smoothly.

We did encounter some very bad weather and closed roads, but we had back up plans and what we didn't see this time, we will see in a future trip - we'll certainly be using Hey Iceland again for that - to create a more bespoke adventure.

Wir haben eine 14 tägige Rundreise gebucht. Hey Iceland bietet einen Rund-Um-Service. Ich konnte alle meine Wünsche äußern und alles wurde umgesetzt. Die Betreuung per Email war sehr zufriedenstellend. Die Auswahl der Unterkünfte war perfekt zusammen gestellt. Die Route war super, wir konnten alle Sehenswürdigkeiten in Ruhe genießen, für Wanderungen hatten wir ausreichend Zeit, um dann am Abend voller neuer Eindrücke in einer gemütlichen Unterkunft anzukommen. Die wichtigsten Ausflüge wurden vorab gebucht und zeitlich so in den Tagesablauf integriert, dass beim Fahren keine Hektik aufkommen musste. Die Übernahme und Rückgabe des Autos hat auch super geklappt. Das Tablet mit täglichen Vorschlägen was es auf der Route zusehen gibt hat uns auch sehr gut gefallen.
Wir hatten einen unvergesslichen Urlaub auf Island und würden jederzeit wieder über Hey Iceland buchen

We had a fantastic experience with Hey Iceland and our planner Sandra.
Sandra tailored a package to suit our 3 night stopover with 2 lovely rural locations in the hope we would catch the Northern Lights. We had the good fortune to experience these on our first night. The final night was close to the airport for early morning departure.

The car hire collection was easy and the Hey Iceland trip planner tablet was excellent for navigating to our preselected sightseeing places and evening accommodation. We preferred this trip to a group travel program, as we could determine our start and finish times,while relaxing at the sightseeing areas.

When we visit again we will definitely use Hey Iceland and be in touch with Sandra for our next tour

Wir buchten eine individuelle dreiwöchige Rundreise mit Mietwagen und Unterkünften. Über- und Rückgabe des Autos inklusive Tablet klappten problemlos. Wissen sollte man, dass das von HeyIceland programmierte Tablet mit der Tour nicht mit dem autointernen Navigationsgerät koppelbar ist, da es keine aktuelle Android-Autoversion hat.
Die gebuchten Hotels waren bis auf eines nach unseren Vorstellungen. Bei nicht besetzter Rezeption erhielt man Informationen zum Zugang/Schlüssel.
Viele Highlights waren in der Planung aufgelistet. Wir konnten selbst problemlos wählen, was wir uns ansehen wollten mit Hilfe der kurzen zur Verfügung gestellten Informationen. Die Navigation mit dem Tablet war sehr einfach.
Für Hiking-Touren hätten wir sicher nachfragen können, wir organisierten diese jedoch allein.
Wir erlebten einen eindrucksvollen, sehr schönen Urlaub und danken den Mitarbeitenden von HeyIceland.

I spent 7 nights in Iceland doing the self drive in early January. Luckly they gave me an AWD Suzuki. It went everywhere it needed to go. The tablet was a godsend. When you couldn't see the road 25ft in front of you the tablet showed if it was straight. The tablet for directions was a great help finding all the tourist sites. Accommodation was awesome. Every place I stayed was beautiful. One place I got to see the northern lights sitting in a hottub. I will definitely go back but this time in summer to see greenery. One final point, if travelling in winter remember the weather can change dramatically in 30mins and wind or snow can close roads.

Hey, Iceland was the epitome of helpfulness when planning my trip to Iceland. I tried planning it on my own, but had a difficult time especially since it's a foreign country. I ended up working with 3 people in the agency. All were aware of my questions and ideas. Even after the agents planned my trip, I still added a few changes. I wanted to stay at a specific place (Solvangur Icelandic Horse Center) that wasn't on their approved list. Hey, Iceland contacted them and made it happen. Very accommodating. I would highly recommend.

A remarkable adventure w my girls….a family affair. Indeed the Blue Lagoon was spectacular. We loved Mytavn. We spent 10 days on the Ring Road. Iceland is mythic. I loved breathing the air, the spectacular luminescent sky, the sound of the winds and water.  The landscape is unlike any I have seen. My daughter and granddaughter (15) sat sorting the smoothest of black stones on lava black sandy beaches. Everywhere the sky loomed large above the dramatic landscape, craters covered w moss.  It shall certainly change how we see the earth and how we live our lives.  My granddaughter’s father was born in Cork.  A bit like Ireland she said.  She has a bit of Viking in her soul.  They took some lovely and crazy pictures.

Enigmas:   No swimming...Do people really swim with glaciers?  We came to a road to a site blocked by 3 large boulders..an interesting though difficult way to close a road.

Of interest: The planting of birch trees on ridges, around homes and surrounding greenhouses, the forest..brilliant, of course the geothermal energy
