I stayed in the new upstairs room in a traditional house with such a wonderful view of the sunset! It was beautiful and very comfortable. The hostess was more than kind. Lovely stay!

Very cozy hotel with coffee machine / tea in the spacious kitchen and seating area with great daylight. Breakfast was included which is a big plus in the rather remote area.

Wir haben mit etwas Glück das letzte Zimmer bekommen. Der Standort ist für Bird Watching der Hammer 🐦‍⬛ Aber das Guesthouse ist eher einfach und nicht sehr komfortabel.

It’s a home away from home. The house is very clean and decorated like one’s home. The owner puts the trust on guests without even showing up in person so that guests feel like at home with maximum freedom. Full kitchen with all essential plus little goodies that never leave you on hunger. A small supermarket and a wine store is conveniently located almost next door where you can buy all daily needs. Behind a manless gas station done the street, the owner owe and operates a convenience store with a restaurant in it and it is the only one in the little town. The hotel guests have complementary breakfast buffet in this small restaurant and can eat lunch & dinner there too. Yes, the owner (hotel & the store) is very professional, friendly and kind. The location is between hot tourist sites and it is very quiet & peaceful. To us, it’s an ideal please for Iceland self driving tour middle point relaxing & recharging. We lived there for two nights 8/21 & 8/22. We’d straight strongly recommend this place for those who are driving along the ring road.

The place itself was really good. The room was big, very comfortable bed, tv and good heating. There's fully equipped kitchen with everything you need. There's also a laundry room with a dryer.
The price includes the breakfast (only in the summer- from July 3rd), they serve the breakfast in the N1 gas station (2min drive down the street) - the breakfast was good and tasty. Includes cheese, sausages, bread, sandwiches, pastries, coffee etc.

The downside was the communication with the host. We booked through Airbnb and unfortunately she didn't answer our question there and we didn't get any clear instructions of the check in. When we got to the place there was a note saying to call a number they left to do check in. Although it was quick and easy it still wasn't unclear the use of the kitchen, we had to search the laundry room etc.

Overall I'm still recommending the place.

We stayed in the main guesthouse. Plenty of parking space, the check-in was good, Karen and her family are super friendly hosts. Very clean and comfortable room with plenty of space for our family of 3.|Breakfast was great, lots of choices provided. We are already thinking when we could go back for more then just one night 🙂

Stayed in the private 'house' next to the main Guesthouse. ||The accommodation is magnificent, very well designed and beautifully maintained. The host was extremely friendly and I appreciated the service because its really early in the season and I am the only guest.||Þórshöfn is in a wonderful part of Iceland and well worth visiting. Fuel station, health centre/pool and grocery shopping are all at hand in this small town.
