I didn't really realize this entire was all considered part of the playground. To the south of the buildings are a number of what appear to be monuments reflecting on the avalanche that destroyed and nearly killed everyone in old Sudavik. This includes a memorial cross and name plaque, a sculpture reflecting the whaling nature of the town, and various more playground oriented things. Only by looking at Google maps do I realize that the poles are part of the disc golf course. No one on the tour was really sure what they were. We did hear about how a widow had developed and built the entire area in memory of here child who (I believe) was killed in the avalanche)

Wonderful playground for small kids, teenagers and even adults. Place for play, barbecue and rest. Absolutely stunning views. Open 24h, very well organised. Touching story of how it was developed.

Un très beau terrain de jeu pour les enfants. Plein de jeux différents, très bien entretenu. A côté du petit mémorial aux victimes des avalanches de 1995.

This is a memorial site for 28 people who were killed in an avalanche. Now people in this area can only be in the houses in the summer. A system to prevent any additional loss of life due to Avalanches.
