This was one of my favorite locations we stayed at in Iceland. The cottages are tucked away in the trees across the fjord from town, and the private hot tub was a really nice way to spend two nights watching the aurora. The showers, laundry (including dryer to dry out our swimsuits before packing), and kitchen were very nice to have as well.

The cottage has a lot of amenities which allowed us to wash and dry our clothes in the middle of our 11-day trip. It is located on a quiet hillside and the place was clean. We are very pleased with our stay there.

We spent three days here in the Viking cottage which was cosy and warm. The only down parts were noises coming through the pipes keeping both me and my partner awake for two evenings we did report this felt to pay the full amount for this inconvenience was unjust also cutlery wasn't as clean as expected and bathroom needed a deep clean but other than that it was nice

Very Nice cottage on a hill slide with a view over Akureyri city and to the mountains.
Everything very easy to use and the hot tub nice and cozy. Floor heating was my favorite, so nice in the winter.
Good service and easy access after booking.

My wife and I stayed here for four nights and thoroughly enjoyed the place, the view of the mountains and the fjord/town of Akureyri, and the spectacular show that we got from the northern lights on one of our nights there. We saw the lights on two of the four nights, and of course, there's never a guarantee. But on the night that we had a mostly clear sky, the show was spectacular. If you visit in the winter and get lucky, it's a beautiful spot to see the lights overheard from outside both the back and front of the place. Benedikt was good when it came to answering questions by email, and we chose not to rent a car and use the local taxi company to get to and from town. That added a little expense to the stay, but it was well worth it for us. Some guests in the other units did what we did. Some rented cars. It worked very nicely either way. We strongly recommend staying here and hope you get lucky with the lights like we did.
