Fuimos cinco personas a cenar en este restaurante tradicional español y fue, sin duda, una elección perfecta. El abuelo cocinero en la cocina preparó una paella auténtica que sabía a gloria, como hecha en casa. Todo el personal era realmente español, y eso se notaba en el trato y en el ambiente. Nos emocionó cada detalle del lugar. ¡Una experiencia inolvidable!

On our short stay in Iceland we took a tour with an awesome Spanish-Icelandic guide Martin. I asked him for some great food recommendations and he recommended La Barceloneta. Sadly, they were closed the next day and then we had to leave for Greenland. Two weeks later, we came back to Reykjavik for one more night before going home and I really wanted to try the paella that I have been dreaming about for two weeks. I dragged our group there across the whole town, so the expectations were high. 🙂 Well, La Barceloneta did not disappoint! First we got a bowl of salmorejo which was insanely delicious. Then we had the seafood paella while our friends ordered the chicken paella. We all loved the food. The people there were very nice and fun to chat with as well. I wish I lived closer so I could get my weekly serving of delicious paella!

This was genuinely the best Spanish experience I've had in Iceland. We had garlic shrimp and ham and mushroom croquettes for starters, and then the mixed Paella for the main course. The place has great service and a relaxing atmosphere. I would definitely recommend this place if you're looking for authentic delicious Spanish cuisine.

Fantastic! It was incredible to find such a good Spanish and Catalan restaurant in Iceland. Those who want to eat good paella and good tapas here will not run the risk of eating the tourist version that you unfortunately find in many places in Spain. Authentic Spanish and Catalan cuisine in Iceland! Highly recommended!

GRAN experiencia de comida española en el centro de la ciudad. De verdad los platillos con sabores muy auténticos y reales, deliciosos.
Las bebidas y el servicio de igual forma muy buenas.

La Barceloneta in Reykjavík is an absolute gem! The food is delicious, beautifully presented, and full of authentic Mediterranean flavors that made us feel right at home. The staff is incredibly friendly and attentive, making sure our experience was perfect from start to finish. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, with a cozy interior that transports you straight to Spain. We especially loved the paellas and tapas selection — everything was cooked to perfection. Honestly, even in Barcelona it’s hard to find a restaurant with the same quality. Highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a memorable dining experience in Reykjavík. Five stars without a doubt!

La Barceloneta in Reykjavik delivers a true taste of Spain! The tapas were fresh, full of flavour, and served in a lively, bustling atmosphere. The crowd included many Spanish guests, which says a lot about the authenticity. We felt transported straight to Barcelona. Can’t wait to come back and try the paella next time!
