Við hjónakornin gistum eina nótt í litlu húsunum sem þau eru að leigja út og þau eru verulega skemmtileg. Sameiginleg aðstaða var svo með thladsvæðinu og hún var líka í fínu lagi. Rauðisandur er náttúrulega einstakur og vera þarna í 15°C og sól er bara ógleymanlegt.

Endroit superbe, proche de la plage mais cuisine minuscule (uniquement 4 places assis sur un mange debout et 2 plaques d'appoint). 4 toilettes et 2 douches (une douche sans toit). Pas d'électricité pour le sèche cheveux. Je vous conseille de venir uniquement si vous êtes indépendants niveau cuisine / douche. Comme partout, ils accueillent beaucoup plus de personnes que ceux qu'il faudrait pour le bon déroulement du camping.

In May 2025, I had the pleasure of spending a night at this incredible location, where I was treated to breathtaking views. The beach is just a short walk away, and during my visit, I was delighted to see sheep and lambs grazing freely. The tide times are conveniently posted, and at low tide, I was able to spot seals and their young on the beach. It's worth noting that the road leading to this location is unpaved and may not be suitable if you are not prepared. However, the stunning scenery makes it well worth the effort. The bathrooms are impeccably maintained, with the added luxury of private outdoor showers. The kitchen is well-stocked with a range of tools and appliances, including a washer and dryer. The Italian staff member at the campsite was exceptionally friendly and brewed excellent coffee. We arrived late and were advised to check in at the reception the following morning. My only complaint was that I struggled to adjust the shower water temperature, which seemed to be either extremely hot or cold. Nevertheless, I would highly recommend staying here again and again.

We stayed at this camp for just one night, but even in that short time, it managed to impress us. It was the wildest and most remote camp of our entire 12-day trip around Iceland. The views were stunning — overlooking a mountain with a waterfall and a beach. There’s a kitchen — small but functional — and even a washing machine. The shower was great with hot water, though it’s a pity there’s no hot water in the kitchen, only in the shower. A big plus is the small shop at the reception with groceries and basic necessities. It’s incredibly useful when you’re so far away from civilization.

I recommend this camp.

Beautiful camping spot with a well equipped kitchen and warm showers. Mauri takes great care of the place and is always there to help or give advice. My mother was very pleased she could stay in a cabin instead of the tent when there was a lot of wind. We ended up staying longer than planned and we would definitely recommend.

Beautiful end of the road camping experience with seaside and mountain views. If you’re luck at low tide you may see seals. Clean bathrooms and shower. Modest lounge with meal prep space. Don’t miss the hike along the shore to the little waterfall and old settlement!

Not a good one. Very windy. The kitchen is tiny, good for 2 people. There is no decent table. All the doors to kitchen and toilets were wide open, so it was very cold inside - no place to hide from wind and cold. The view is good, but after couple days on Iceland it's just a normal view 😉 not worth it.

Loved the huge camping spots, not many people, amazing with nice weather, there is everything you need and a kind italian guy is sitting at the reception (you can buy some snacks&drinks there too). They have 3 little cabins too. It can be very windy. They don't take the camping card. The beach is huge and you can go observe plejty of seals if you walk far enough (mind the tide and don't get caught too far out when it comes!)
