Hólmanes: Skátaæfsta í Austurlandi

Hólmanes er skátaæfsta í Austurlandi, staðsettur í útlaginu milli Reyðarfjörður og Eskifjörður. Næsta staðurinn er um 100 km eftir. Hólmanes er þekktur fyrir ótrúðuúr og stundar fræðslu og þjónustu í sérfræði sinni, þegar um Þjóðgarð Íslands er að ræða. Það er einn af þremur skátaæfsum staðunum í landinu sem eru í umhverfi Skriðugerðarstaða og Reynisfjalla.

Hólmanes er staður sem er stundar aðstoð við skátun og er einn af þremur skátaæfsum staðunum í Austurlandi. Það er þekkt fyrir stór fjölda fugla og er oft kallað þjóðgarður fugla. Er einnig talið að vera fremur góður staður fyrir börn, því þar er mun stór fjölda staða þar sem börn geta leikið.

There's no flashy attraction here — just raw Icelandic nature, abundant birdlife, and the gentle rhythm of the sea. The area is dotted with easy walking trails that let you explore the rocky coastline, spot seabirds (including puffins in the summer), and admire views of the surrounding fjords and mountains.

Check alltrails.com for an easy walk around the peninsula (called Hólmanes - Eskifjörður) - it is around 5k and so so worth it. Hiking shoes not required. Do the loop clockwise for better views and surface. Plus reason to go: the trail is not very popular (we just saw two other people), which makes it ever more charming.

The scenery of this small penninsula is really nice. If you walk the trails that start to the south of the parking lot you will need good shoes but trust me it is worth the hike!
If you keep south on the main track it will lead you to a small rocky beach weich ist really beatiful and gives you a nice view into Reydafjördur!
If you keep north on the second split of the trail it will lead you to a nice round walk around the bigger mountain of the penninsula!

Sehr nbietetund idyllischer Stop auf dem Weg richtung Eskifjördur. Man kann hier ein bisschen spazieren gehen. Die Spitze bietet einen wunderbaren rundum-Ausblick in den Fjord.
