Vi saði að reikna upp à heimað, er Efra-Sel Hostel ekki en bare stöð fyrir þjóðarheimslækur, aber ekki óvreldligur til að feri. Great communication with host. Super easy check in. House was easy to find. Room was very small (two twins) but we knew that ahead of time, it was perfect for my 18 year old son and I. The common area of the house was great, we enjoyed a chess game, made food, enjoyed the patio. The other guests were super friendly and having the full size fridge/freezer was awesome. The bathrooms were clean and sharing was no trouble. I very much recommend this hostel!

We were pleasantly surprised with this place. The rooms are very well sized and they include sinks which is great. There is 2 bathrooms that you share with 5 other rooms, but we never had to wait to use them. The kitchen is well sized and stocked and there is a spa that is lovely to relax in after a day of hiking. The wifi is strong as well.

This was our first night in Iceland as we just got off the plane and drove for over 5hrs. It was a nice place to rest our heads. Room was minimalistic, clean, good heating. Home was huge with a fully equipped kitchen and coffee machine. Living room was large and inviting, nice books with chess game. Place had an open feel.||Since we travelled in Nov, it was low season so we shared this accomodation with another couple who we had fun times with. Shower/bath was clean and had hot water. Received combo lock by email to let ourselves in. No interaction with host (which was not needed) but avail by email. Had the place basically to ourselves.||||Great location as it is minutes away from secret lagoon. If you are in the area, suggest you stay awhile.

This was very good. Nice room, good view on the terrace and spotless clean bathroom. The kitchen was well equipped. We didn't use the bubbles Bath. It was easy to find and located very peacefully and the blinds in the room was good, especcially in july. It doesn't get dark.

Great place to stay if you are travelling across Iceland!! Cozy and confortable rooms, nice hot tubs, tons of board games and impressive views! With full-equipped kitchen too! Don't hesitate to come!

We stayed here for two nights on our visit to Iceland and honestly wished we could have stayed there the whole time. If we ever come back, we probably will. It was very clean and well appointed. It has an extremely large kitchen and sitting area that has everything you could possibly need, including spices. Check in through booking.com was extremely easy. the bathrooms are shared, but they were very clean with a nice rain shower and we found all the other guests to be quiet and respectful. We thought it was easy to find and well marked. The hot tub is a nice touch; unfortunately we just didn't have time to enjoy it on this trip. We stayed in a family room with a double bed and a convertible couch. Both the bed and the couch were comfortable and the room was equipped with a blackout curtains, which was much appreciated in June! It was only our daughter on the couch bed, but it could have comfortably slept two average sized adults. The restaurant next door is delicious. We tried a carrot soup and Icelandic meat soup, both of which were excellent. Every employee we met was extremely nice and made the experience quite pleasant. The location is perfect. A short drive gets you to Hruni, where there is a really cute hot spring. Not far from Faxi waterfall, Gulfoss, geysir, secret lagoon. Perfect place to stay on the Golden circle. Hope to be back!

Cet établissement est à l'extérieur de la ville mais les propriétaires ont un petit restaurant juste à côté et leurs pizzas sont excellentes. La boite à clef à l'entrée permet de gérer l'accès aux chambres très facilement. La cuisine est grande et bien équipée, il y a de quoi lire ou jouer dans la salle commune. Tout était très propre. Ce fut notre première expérience en logement avec SdB et cuisine partagée mais tout s'est très bien déroulé!||Nous n'étions que 4 couples durant notre séjour donc il n'y a pas eu d'embouteillage dans les toilettes et les douches mais il n'y a que 2 salles de bain et les WC se trouvent dans la même pièce, ce qui peut peut-être poser problème en pleine saison si l'établissement est complet.

On our trip through Iceland we stayed our last night in this hostel. The hostel is a cozy house with a view on a small mountain. Everything is very clean and the atmosphere of the interior is great. There is a big kitchen with everything you need. The best thing of this location is the hottub in the garden.
