A hidden gem on the island. The food was phenomenal. I didn't have much appetite when I walked in, but I finished ever single bit of my food.

The waiter was super friendly. The atmosphere was cozy yet modern. There are a lot of flowers/plants around the restaurant. The bathroom was really clean.

What a gem. We came in early afternoon and found ourselves to be the only guests. We were able to strike up conversation with the CDC who'd told us he was from London and creating dishes for Naes, which sits just across the street from the more famous sister restaurant Slippurinn.

Everything on the menu looked delicious, so it was a challenge to choose, but we went with the croquettes, gratin, and fried chicken salad. This was a really good meal. It felt homey, hearty, and satisfying on such a windy day. It helped start kickstart the second half of our day in Vestmannaeyar.

næs was one of our two favorite meals during our 3-week trip in Iceland (and far more affordable than the other restaurant). Every bite of food was absolutely delicious (in addition to being visually appealing). We especially loved the wild mushroom arancini, gnocci with Icelandic scallop, and white chocolate & yogurt mousse with basil granita.

The basil mousse dessert, in particular, is something I regularly think about and wish I could eat again. It was the most interesting and incredible combination of sweet, earthy, creamy, acidic, and peppery.

næs is the sister restaurant of the famous Slippurinn by innovative Icelandic chef Gísli Matt. I read part of the Slippurinn cookbook and was really touched by the story of a family-run business trying to pay homage to the natural resources & way of life on Vestmannaeyjar. I'm honored to have been able to dine & experience this home-caught, hand-foraged food.

Really really good food. Probably Michelin star food quality. We went in as a walk in party of 4 after going up the volcano, ended up eating too fast to get pictures of the plates at their most pretty

Amazing food in an intimate setting. The dishes are delicious; especially the smaller plates. I loved the chocolate mousse dessert with olive oil and basil sorbet. Very well executed dishes with the right flavor profiles and textures. I would definitely go back ?

The best meal I had in Iceland! My friends and I were amazed by the quality of the food and uniqueness of the dishes. The staff was incredibly kind and attentive - they made the experience unforgettable. Wow, just wow. People say that Icelandic restaurants don't offer the best cuisine in the world. The ambition of this place is to 'cook the best food on the island'. And they deliver!

The BEST food I had during our visit to Iceland. You have to take a ferry out to the island to get here, but it was definitely worth the trip. The service was excellent. The food was delicious and well executed. I cannot say enough about this place. There were 15 of us there and they handled it flawlessly. I will return one day.
