What a fantastic retreat in the Westfjords! We chose this hotel to be close to the bird cliffs to see the puffins and it was a great choice. The owners were super friendly and helped figure out the best time to see the puffins. We had dinner in the restaurant that was a baked fish dish and skyr with berries for dessert. It was FANTASTIC. I wish I had the recipe so I could make it myself. Breakfast was also great. The room was large with great views. We were able to walk down to the sandy beach. Despite it being in the 40s, it felt like a beach in the Caribbean. The cliffs are about 30 minutes away but its a very, very rough drive so be prepared. My husband really enjoyed talking to the owner about his experience owning the hotel and the history of the place. We would definitely stay here again if we come back!

I love this place. Had a wonderful stay. The hosts were very sweet and friendly. Breakfast was amazing with homemade bread and blueberry marmalade. Great coffee. The rooms were lovely and roomy. Wonderful showers and comfy bed. It got a bit warm in the room but we just opened the window and problem solved. Not much else around the place. A town is a 45 minute drive away. Latrabjarg cliffs are about 25 minutes away.

This hotel is about 25 minutes away from the Latrabjarg cliffs in a quiet isolated location in the Westfjords. It is a converted school house and the owner was very friendly. We had a beautiful water and ocean view from our large windows. We only stayed for one night.

The room was clean and spacious with a unique design; beds were very comfortable and the shower was nice. We did not have dinner here but we had their breakfast which started at 8:00am and was fresh, plentiful and very good; it was in a cozy atmosphere. The winds that day were so strong that wind noise howled through the hall ways and in our room. If you struggle with noises you may want to bring earplugs. I am sure this situation is not all of the time just this day it was intense.

Not a close restaurant in the area so you may want to call ahead to reserve your spot for dinner. From all of the reviews I read it was expensive to have dinner here and a set menu, but I can’t confirm that. WiFi worked quickly. Overall we enjoyed our stay and we would stay here again.

Enjoyed two lovely nights here! Karl is a cheerful and knowledgeable host. The view of the mountains and the beach are breathtaking!
Very clean, comfortable beds and modern bathrooms with excellent showers. Love the well preserved antiques and old photos and paintings.
Food is wonderful, dinners are scrumptious. Breakfast is plentiful including delicious breads and coffee.
This is a remote location, but roads are decent, not bumpy, and the puffins on the cliff do not disappoint!

Wir haben 1 Nacht im Hotel übernachtet. Die Familie welche das Hotel führt ist sehr lieb und gibt sich wirklich alle Mühe für die Gäste. Das Zimmer war sehr gross und sauber. Das Frühstücksbuffet war solala (kein skyr joghurt). |Leider gab es zum Abendessen nur 1 menu. Aber für zu den Puffins ist das Hotel sehr gut gelegen und kann es daher auch empfehlen.

Almost as close as you can stay to the puffin cliffs in Latrabjarg. Room was clean and the bed was quite comfortable. Bathroom appeared to be recently updated. We enjoyed chatting with the owner and he offered us quite a few travel tips. Didn’t have dinner there - recommend picking up something on your way in if you’re budget-conscious.

Wir waren nur für zwei Nächte da. Das war wohl der Grund, warum wir das Zimmer mit den größten Fenstern bekommen haben, in das ca. 12 Stunden täglich die Sonne geschienen hat. Von der Masse an Fliegen im Zimmer ganz zu schweigen. Frühstück sehr minimalistisch, Abendessen überteuert und lieblos. Es wird die abgeschiedene Lage ausgenutzt.

Hotel nella media, prezzo spropositato sia per la stanza che per il ristorante: più del normale islandese. Buona camera, ottimo bagno e letti comodi. Cena: piatto unico normalissimo, nulla di speciale, neanche abbondante, nessuna possibilità di scelta, e prezzo troppo esagerato: 200 euro (!) 3 piatti con acqua gratis. Anche la colazione nulla di speciale, normalissima. Per quanto speso mi sarei aspettato molto di più.
